10 Ways To Master Your Goals With God

Be Transformed! Be Ready!

Do you struggle with starting a study or program and finishing well?

Do you start really excited but then fall down half way through?

Here are some reasons why and ten ways to stay on track!

I want today to let you know that it is important to recognize that this is a journey. You are not going to pick up a book or any other mind renewal program and on day 1 see an utter and complete change. That is okay! God is always revealing layers and dimensions to our thinking that we may never have seen before.

It is important to recognize the lies and potential stumbling blocks that can get in the way of your transformation. But not just recognize them, but we have to do something with those potential struggles to prepare ourselves for what is to come.

When my husband and I are putting together a schedule, we always try to identify the potential difficulties or stumbling blocks that may come. It can come in the way of procrastination, fears, frustrations or discouragement. Isn't that the same for any area of life?

Without a plan, the temptation is to retreat and make things easier for ourselves.

Mark 4:16-17

16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.

Did you know that the word to stumble means to "offend" or "to be offended"?

This comes in two ways:

Trials and tribulations (small or large) - No matter the size of these they will come. We are not to retreat - this is not the answer! Trying to smooth out the path of trials to make them easier for our flesh is not the answer! But the word teaches us to rejoice in these trials as they produce great endurance and patience. You do not have to accept to be crushed by this thing but instead, let it have its perfect work.

The Roots - Our roots do not go deep enough into the right life-sustaining source. Our roots are what convict us to our purpose in why we are living this life and making these choices. You are not going to finish well if you use pure grit and will power. What is necessary is to draw from Gods grace, love & His truth.

The bible says that the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy as well as he comes for the sake of the Word.

Just like Adam and Eve and in the garden the enemy will try to tempt you with words like;

“this is not going to work,”

“does God want you to do this – it's so time-consuming”,

“has God called you as His own?”

Remember that an un-renewed mind and toxic thoughts block the purposes of God coming to pass in your life and others.

The enemy will stop at nothing to prevent you from fulfilling freedom and breakthrough in your life. But we have an overflow of confidence in Him that He has made way for us.

Remember that we are to expect trials and tests - they WILL come for the Words sake. This is the case for anyone who:

1- Embraces the gospel

Disciple of Jesus

2 - Professes the name of Christ

3 - Willing to live godly for Him

10 Keys to staying on track

1 - Resist the temptation to buck under the pressure

Arm yourself with the word of God. Just like Jesus did in the wilderness when the enemy tempted Him He had a word ready for every test. Renew your mind by meditating on these words of God. Be prepared to take captive every lie that goes against the truth of what God has said and who He says you are. This is mind renewal. Take key scriptures and meditate on these daily!

2 - Know and comprehend the love of God

The bible says that we should be rooted and grounded in His love. To comprehend the width, depth and breadth of His love is going to change everything. Once you know His love for you-you can overcome every test that will come it's way. Ephesians 3:16 I do this by meditating on the attributes of God, His love for me, Listening to sermons about His love and studying the love of God.

3 - Take up your cross

Ask the Lord what do you need to do to stand your ground. You will be led if you allow yourself to be led. There are things you may have to cut off and let go. Time wasters, or spending too much time listening to the wrong people or influences. Spend time in your quiet times with the Lord and ask Him what areas of your life need change and adjusting.

4 - Lead with patience & grace

Whatever journey you are beginning go wholehearted and go hard but remember to be patient with yourself and walk in the grace of God that has been laid up for you. Do this by meditating on who you are in Christ and what has been made available for you.

5 - Let God refine you in the fire

When those trials come lay yourself under the mighty hand of God and let Him have His perfect work in you. If you stay still and patient enough, God is going to draw out all that should not be there and give you a level of endurance and patience you have never seen.

6 - Ask Holy Spirit for help

We have a mighty comforter and adviser in Holy Spirit if you ask of Him for wisdom then He will give it to you. The bible says if we ask we will freely receive. So as you are going through this journey ask Him for support and guidance on what you need to do.

7 - Be strengthened with might

The Bible promises us that we are to be strengthened by His Spirit in our inner man. Resist the temptation to be temporarily strengthened by other means such as food, TV or all other ways. Don't use poor substitutes! True & lasting strength only comes from God.

8 - Be accountable

Ensure that you have your faithful few surrounding you. Have those around you who will lift you and tell you that you can do this. Be led by the Lord on who these people should be. You may have negative people around you that you can not get away from. The key is to do the above steps, stay in the Word, stay connected in communing with God and guard your heart and mind with the word above all else.

9 - Know the truth

Get the right perspective from God of why you are setting out on this journey and not what you think. Do not lean on your understanding. If you start that way when you journey through the trials and tests, you will continue to lean on your way of doing things. Gird yourself with the armor of God and truth.

10 - Be on guard

Please. Please. Please remember you WILL be tested. So be on guard! Don't take anything as a mere coincidence. Someone starts arguing with you or accusing you about the same area you are trying to renew your mind about or the journey you are starting? It's not a coincidence. Maybe it is. Only God knows. Either way, take action and be on guard.
